I bet there have been people who told you, to some point in your life, that you should change, that you should be such and such, and do what it is required from you not what you`d like to do, isn`t it?
I know it, because I have been there myself, too. I guess there`s not a single person in this whole word that hasn`t heard “famous” lines such as:” You better stop fooling around and start doing what`s best for you!”, or “ You need to change. It`s not good for you the way you are right now. You absolutely need to change”
All this leaves me speechless!
How do they know what`s best for You?
How do they know You need to change?
And most of all- who do they think they are to tell you that you need to change? I`m serious, what makes them think they have the authority or right to tell you that you need to change? Isn`t it silly? Isn`t it arrogant? Isn`t it a violation of the person’s rights? If you ask me, my answer is yes to all of these questions.
In my opinion, there isn`t a single person on this planet that has the right to demand this change from you; not even your parents.
And why am I saying this?
Because parents were given to us for them to raise and care for us- not to change us.
It would be kind of silly, wouldn’t it be?
Here we are, sent on Earth by God, in the most perfect form that could ever exist and our parents are waiting for us to “make the adjustments”?!
How stupid is that?!
Differently put, we are spiritual travelers- everybody is. So parents are like a gate through which we come into this world. Under these circumstances, since when can a gate have demands over the traveler that passes through it? Pretty logical, right?
If this would be the case, then I guess God wouldn`t be so perfect, would He? He wouldn`t be the perfect creator that we all know as, right? So, since He is not “perfect”, what kind of a God is He, in the end?
I do believe that after the above mentioned question, you`ll see my point and agree with me that indeed, God is perfect and perfectness is everything He does.
Therefore, nobody should ever worry or get frustrated about the fact that he/she can`t fulfill the “expectations” that people imposed upon them.
And when I say expectations, I am referring to those well-known standards that are so high it makes one dizzy. For real! This has another bad side, too: whenever we feel we don`t fit and we can`t be at height, our self love and esteem drop so low that we feel we are worthless and being perfect is the furthest thing we could possibly think or accept.
See my point?
This is what happens when we give up on ourselves for the foolish quest to please others. Oh well, this is another topic 😛 Funny how I seem to jump from a topic to another…:D Nothing planned, of course :-))
So, going back to our today`s topic:-)
I do mean it when I say that you are perfect. I really do. You may think I am crazy or am talking nonsense. I can accept that, because I know you`re not seeing yourself the way I do. And the way I look at you tells me that you`ve been wonderfully made; you`ve been touched by the most perfect creating hand that exits on the face of the Earth; that you are unique and deep down, at the bottom of your soul, lies an ocean of love, understanding, acceptance for you and everything else around you. You just need to remember these things- that is all.
This is what I know about you, this is my truth and it is enough for me, regardless if you agree or not.
Nobody can ever impose something on you- not even family, friends, relatives and most certainly- not society. You were sent “wearing” a perfect shape, with everything included in it. So it is with a fruit, plant, an animal and so on.
When you look at them, aren`t you charmed by their beauty and perfectness?
Would you ever change something about them? Would you change the shape of the fruit or your dog`s color? Would you? You wouldn`t, right?
So it is with you, my friend:-)
You are perfectly made, and you DON`T NEED any change. Please stop listening to the people who`re telling you you do. They are wrong in their judgment simply because they haven`t accepted themselves either. Their judgment is a clear sign of their own unacceptance.
The only thing you need to do is shine your light and perfectness. This is what God wants from you:-)

Cristina

Cristina,
This is a very stimulating topic. I am fascinated by the thoughts of this truth. I have done much meditating on whether we are “determined” by our parents or “influenced” by them. You will hear many people blame their parents, or their friends for the bad things that happen to them, but we all have the ability to make choices. What separates people from animals is our ability to think before we act. When we take the time to build a relationship with our inner self, we are rewarded with the knowledge that we are connected to God and therefore perfect, as you said. Great topic.
Doug
Hello, Doug:))
I am glad that the topic stimulates you:)) It has done so with me, too:)) I do believe that we are, to some extent, determined by our parents, Doug. It`s just the way it is since they are the “gate” through which we come into this world. So, some features (either positive or negative) are passed on to us. And yet, this doesn`t place any person in the position to say:”I guess I can`t do anything about my life (or whatever the case may be), because I have inherited these damn flaws from them and I can`t change it! I want` to but I cant!”
This is a silly and irresponsible attitude, if you want my opinion. If this would be the case, why do we have brains and why do we have the free will to make our own choices? It just doesn`t make any choice, does it?
The fundamental truth is that we`ve been perfectly created. Nobody needs “adjustments”. What our world needs is to simply come o remember this truth- this is all.
Thank you for your comments, Doug:)) Always a pleasure to read them:)))
Much love,
Cristina
