I was reading the other day an article on how one has to do the work in order to fulfill their dreams. Big article…:D
I guess there`s no Aladdin’s lamp here, is it?:))
It would be kind of fun to have one, and even so, we still need to take action for what we want to achieve.
It`s just how this Universe works 🙂
So, since no lamp is near us, what to do?
Well… Take action, anyway!
Truth is it`s not always easy. As humans, we face all kinds of obstacles or resistance when it comes to materializing our desires. Even the most inspired people have their ups and downs, confronting themselves with issues like this -every now and then- at least.
The good news is that we have a choice. Always. I know you want to see your dreams come true. I mean, who doesn`t? And there`s no limit to it! You can have it all!!
But for that, my friend, you`ll have to go inside the mine. Quite a challenge, isn`t it?:-) And what do I mean when I say, “Go inside the mine”?
It`s a metaphor, of course, but it expresses perfectly what I want to say.
Let me be more precise.
Ever thought about what a miner goes through when he steps inside the mine and starts doing his work? It`s not at all nice, is it?
I mean, that darkness, the dust, the humidity, heat… and on top of all this comes the toughest part: he actually needs to grab his tools and carve into the stone to find the diamonds. Pretty harsh task, isn`t it?
But what will he hold in his hands when he exits the mine? Yes, the beautiful, expensive and priceless diamonds…:-)
Hope I haven`t lost you so far, my friend:-) as this is the part where it gets interesting!:-)
The same principle applies in our lives, too. I mean, the rest of the people who don`t work in a mine. But we still have our own diamonds to look for, still have our own carving to do.
And we aren`t doing it with tools. No. We`re doing it with our minds, souls and body and the reward is … expansion. This is our foremost diamond we get, once we decide to step in and do the work.
And all the things I mentioned before, sweat, darkness, heat, dust and so on…
These are our bridges we need to walk on or rings of fire we need to go through so that we can, eventually, reach our goals- whatever these goals may be. They are waiting for us on the other side.
This also brings in psychology and spirituality because, once you burn these stages, you`ll be another person, a person that is much more mature, developed, committed and ready to face life`s challenges. You`ll be, as they say, weather-beaten.
So, to have or not to have the diamonds? This is the question…:))
But it really does sum up what I want to say here. If you know what your diamonds are and you are committed to go after them, then, my friend, you`ll have to step inside the mine. And you`re not the only one. Nope 🙂
Everybody who ever wanted something ( bad enough!!) and achieved it, they walked into the mine and dug for their diamonds. It`s the only way one can get what they want. And it`s not a one-time job, my friend. As long as you have diamonds you want to have, you`ll have to keep digging. There`s no shortcut here.
On the other hand, if you don`t want to experience the mine, that is fine too. It is your call to make- at the end of the day. You can relax somewhere outside the mine as there`s nobody who can force you to go in. But this comes with a price: you`ll never know what your diamonds are, let alone to hold them in your hands.
You see my point?:-)
Hope I made you reflect on this, as it`s an important matter. For me, at least:-)
So, what will you choose, my friend?
Speak to you next time!
Cristina
Cristina,
This is another brilliant philosophical observation on your part. It is perhaps my favorite post you have written, (so far). :O) You perfectly describe what it means to be a partner with God and how to accomplish the tasks He has set for us to do in our lifetime(s). I agree that the truth of each life can only be found inside, and the treasures of God are always available for those willing to dig and toil. We just have to “enter the mine” as you put it. Great job, (as usual). I love how your mind works and how you match it so wonderfully with your heart. Keep up the good work!
Love,
Doug
Hey, Doug:-)) How are you, my friend?:-)))
I`m glad to hear that what I wrote has found a destination in your heart, Doug:-) Happy to see you resonate with my writing:-)) Yes, the truth is within us, Doug, but we have to do the work to find this truth and let it out so that other people will see it, as it is my belief that we should share it with the world once we find it:-) This is why I said that in order to get the diamonds, we need to go inside the mine. It is, of course, a metaphor, but it describes so perfectly what I want to say:-))
Thank you, Doug, for your words and encouragement:-) I will do my best to keep it up, this is my promise!:-))
Much love & keep writing!:-)))
Cristina
